    Trolling motor prop shaft seized

Trying to help my dad get his boat back into use and drove up to see him today for the weekend. Started looking at his boat and noticed the prop shaft is seized. Any idea on what it could be. It’s one of those older Motorguide 70# thrust that they use to always have on special at Bass Pro.

    Appreciate it guys!!

Probably a magnet or even both broke away from the case, especially if there was water intrusion.

Appreciate it, I just cracked his motor apart and it was loaded with rust from water intrusion. Think I may throw my fortrex on his boat and get me a new one like I’ve been thinking about anyways. Makes a good excuse for me anyways.

He'll have to learn to use his big toe instead of his pinky.
