    What happened to Alumacraft?

Looking at their website, no mod v bass styles or even bare bones Jon boats , just multi species deep v models.

My guess is they moved the resources to Manitou and the Rotax S support.

Yep, BRP happened. They thought they could just outsource the small Jon’s and move the boats that were building in Arkansas to Minnesota and closed that plant. In Minnesota they only built the deep v multi species hulls and they struggled to get the lines running. The Jon boats that were ordered from china came in incredibly sub par and they were stuck with hundreds of garbage boats laying in their boat yards.
I believe they will get things running again but it will be much more limited lines. Unfortunate really.

I wonder if this was the Chinese boat company. I had no idea American boat companies were outsourcing boat building to China.

Note this adv for a "Gizzly" boat. Could it be a BPS "Grizzly"?

Well Alumacraft is no longer a true American company, they may be made here as far as the Minnesota product. it is owned and ran by BRP (French Canadian) and they are more "Global" thinking. and the Grizzly for BPS is made right in Lebanon, MO
