First vinyl album was Chuck Berrys greatest hits on Pickwick from Grants 1.99
First Metal was Paranoid Black Sabbath
I had 2 of record collections over the years. Both around 500. Second collection had some collectible vinyl. Highest value album was Yardbirds live featuring Jimmy Page. One of the first periodical publishings about collecting vinyl had that album on the cover. I went through a born again experience at age 20 and threw out the first collection. Half of the albums I broke in pieces and the rest I put to the curb. The Yardbirds was busted up.
Second collection was more rounded. Lot of Chicago Blues, Jazz, etc.. I sold that collection at auction. Got robbed. Made about 50 cents a piece. Some of the Jazz were new in plastic. My neighbor freaked when he found out what I had in vinyl and dumped it at auction.
