ranger rt198p front seat base mod question

    20230524_162439.jpg

I love fishing out of my new 22 ranger rt198p but hate how the seat base is so up front. I found a seat base that's a rectangle 8 inch long snd 4 inch wide. I only use the center locker for tackle. has anyone done this mod putting a base behind the stock one? thanks

Another option is get one of the Crocked (Bent) Seat posts.

I have one but want to use a butt seat up front and have not found a longer curved post. but I have considered putting my longer post into the 13 inch curved one. I'm 6 foot 1 and that puts the butt seat right in small of my back.

This will move it back six inches, without any modifications to your boat.

that looks like it be awkward with using a butt seat. regular seat might work fine

the above 2 pics is what I'm going to try out on Wednesday. I plan on buying a threaded offset pedestal if I like it. I'm 6 foot 1 one and never found a pedestal to utilize back support from that butt seat. at that height it fits right in my low back and feels nice.

How is that working out for you? I ordered the bent post & i will put a 16'' - 22.75'' adjustable post on top of that. At 6'4'' the post is just way to close to the pedal.

it worked well but then felt to far from the foot pedal. lol. I have a 24 inch threaded post a friend gave me plus a 8 inch post. that seems to be working alright. I haven't ordered a threaded offset one yet. I felt like if I kept using the offset one I have I was gonna wear out that bushing in the base plate
