This weekend lakes here in central Ca. Most likely camp grounds will be full at all are lakes. Waters high and warm mild weather. We have mountain lakes
Bass Lake, Shaver, Huntington lakes. Valley lakes Pine flat, Millerton lake,Eastman & Hensley lakes
Will have a lot of traffic this weekend. Eastman and Hensley are both 25 and 35 minutes from my house. Millerton 30 minutes from my house. After next Monday traffic will slow down again. Fishing will be back to normal once again.

Have not camped at an actual campsite in years. But we have one lake with some really great sandbars that make a great place to camp if you don't need amenities.

Don't need to go anywhere. It's like we're on vacation all the time.

Exactly the type we get at the campgrounds around here!

On big holidays around here (Toledo Bend) all the camps are booked up, you would have to make reservations far in advance, LA state parks, SRA parks, private rentals all the same. So I don't even get on the water.

the people who get obliterated drunk and are completely obnoxious without any regard to the people next to them are ruining the campgrounds. We’re young (32 and 27) but we grew up and out of the party phase, and have courtesy to others.

we saw a couple wearing matching shirts that said “we’re not alcoholics, we’re campers”. They had the rangers at their site nearly every night for being too loud. Everyone around them would applaud and yell thank you to the rangers as they’d show up

at another campground a group booked a few sites and would block the road with their cars or cones because “they just wanted their kids to play safely”. Blasted loud music, ran generators off hours, talking so loudly that you could hear them 5 sites away, were drunk 24/7, completely self centered. Whenever anyone approached them all they said was they “are just enjoying themselves and people need to mind their own business”. After the 3rd time the rangers came they were forced to leave the next morning even though they still had 6 days on their reservation. the rangers were there at 7am to make sure they were gone 10am.

That’s not to say people can’t enjoy themselves but follow the campground rules and just have courtesy to others. It’s not that hard to be a good human being.

I only camp in the cooler months to avoid crowds. But the conditions of the campgrounds I use have steadily deteriorated, mainly due to erosion. Meanwhile the rates have more than doubled in the State Parks. They started a $8 parking fee just to enter the park, it's included in the camping fee though. It's been in effect for 3 years, and supposedly earmarked for improvement in the park its collected at. Haven't seen the 1st improvement yet. Lol

This is typical for our central lakes.
