Ultrex vibration no prop

I have a 6 year old Ultrex. I have replaced everything on this trolling motor except the armature, the last part replaced was the control board last year. Two weeks ago I noticed a small vibration in the motor and thought nothing of it. The next week the prop stopped and never came back. I have steering, I have tried the remote test it steers on the remote but no prop, and I have adjusted the reed switch with no change. I reached out to the Minn Kota dealer I bought the control board from and he thinks its the armature. How can I check the armature? I do not want to buy an armature and a new brush-seal kit if this is not the problem.

It may be worse than that. You may have water intrusion in the motor. remove the prop and loosen the 5/15 head bolt near the skag a little and see if water drips out. You may have to partially deploy the motor. to get water to come out.
