    SHO Rigging Grommet

Does this look right? The conduit for the main rigging seperates from the rubber grommet when you turn. 2023 SHO, I dont see how the ring would ever keep the conduit attached to the rubber grommet. Are my rigging cables too long or is this normal?

The rubber grommet should have a shoulder on the end which retains the cap. It appears that the grommet is torn or has been modified.

That type of rigging tube is fairly hard plastic and not meant for sharp bends like in your 2nd pic. Just for example, on most Skeeters the tube comes out of boat in the middle and goes past a 12" jackplate so there's no sharp bend in it when turning hard in either direction. It looks to me like where it connects to engine is just too close to where it exits the boat. The 2nd pic shows a very extreme bend that's ripping the "grommet" and putting a lot of stress also on the shift and throttle cables when you turn hard to port. Just my opinion but you may need to switch the tube for a soft cover....

Also it's going to scratch your boat up severely.
