I have a 93 stratos 201xp with a 200 Evinrude. It decided to smoke a piston, so I'm searching for a replacement. Found a 96 Evinrude 150. My question is will I be sorry dropping 50 hp. I don't care about top speed but I do care about holeshot

too small bu can prop to keep holeshot good. bassmaster had everyone in a 21 footer with a 150 for awhile and it worked out mostly

look down in motor for sale area several 2 stroke mercs that would work good. 225 and a 250 boat is over 20 foot so a 250 is doable now can order updated sticker for hull

The Stratos of that era had a 201 that was sold with a 150 Evinrude Intruder or the Johnson Faststrike...My nephew had one and it ran well with the 23 Renegade prop. That said if you tourney fish you will be the last out of the hole with tourney load......especially with the livewells full. Other than that she would get on plane within 5-6 secs and run out in the low 50's....I enjoyed fishing out of that rig with him and we had some great times.....That hull is rated for 235 hp. I personally would not go below 225. JMHO
