    50ELPTO Burnt Wiring

Took this motor Serial# OT375879 off my Triton aluminum boat and noticed a few wires had melted. PXL_20230522_005711392.jpg Motor runs great, only things that didn't work was RPM gauge and it wasn't charging the battery when running. Any idea what happened here?

Bad battery, dead battery, poorly connected battery, resulting in overload of the charging system and excessive heat at the highest-resistance connection in the circuit.

Replace the voltage regulator and bullet connectors (all burnt, broken, browned, or discolored harness-side connections should be replaced.
