Way overkill for that size boat, but you can just get a 36v lithium and it will fit back there fine. Fitting 4 12v batteries would be tough.

I already have a glass boat and was just thinking I could take the head unit and shaft off and swap when I wanted to use the tin rig on smaller lakes. Just trying to save 3k lol.

I measured the battery compartment in my 175txw one time and you can get 4 group 24 batteries in that little area. If you don't need the extra speed a 36v would give you I don't see the point in having one. If I would have kept my 175txw I 100% would have gone 36v with one of the new brushless motors by way of a single 36v lithium.

That’s what I’ve been told. And after researching I’ve been told so many different ways and battery configurations I’d need for a lithium 36v. I’ve been told one 36v 50 amp or 60 amp will be way underpowered and I won’t get the life out of it on a hard tournament day. I just wish I could find someone maybe even two people that agreed on what battery and AH lol.

Unless you're using the trolling motor to run from spot to spot 60ah should be more than enough even in the wind especially if going 36v. I have a pair of 60ah 12v lithiums on my 24v Ultrex and am going to give them a good test on their first sun-up to sundown trip pretty soon. I'm more concerned about the Livescope pulling my group 31 agm down on an all day trip than I am running down 60ah of 24v lithium on my 18' Xpress.

    Unless it's for electric only lakes, I wouldn't even consider a 36volter

If I’m reading the specs correctly, there’s very little difference in weight from the 80 to 112 lb thrust 24 to 36 volt.

I have a friend that just purchased a used 175 for River fishing in high current and he already owned a 36 volt Fortrex that he removed from his glass boat so he was faced with this same dilemma.
He ended up putting a battery in one of the rear storage compartments and wiring it in series to two in the bilge. This would not have been my choice but for him this is a single purpose boat. I did some checking and a 36 volt 60 AH Lithium would fit in the bilge.

Ran a 24v on my 05 519vx with absolutely no problems at all. Alot of others about the same.

I have 3 50ah icon lithium batteries in my RT198 and they have a small foot print that I'm sure would fit your needs. I run a Ghost and have never felt like I needed more capacity.

Different boat, but pretty similar. I have a Crestliner VT17. I got a 36 volt troller very cheap from a buddy and used a single 36 volt Amped outdoors 65 ah battery. I have used it once on a local lake for about 6 hours, and twice on the Mississippi River for about 6-8 hours a piece and the gauge still said 76% charged. I don’t see ever running out of power if it is fully charged when you start.
