    Source for a SS prop

    Brother wants to upgrade from AL to a SS prop for his 90 hp Merc. What is a good source?

    This 100%. I've had a Powertech on 3 different boats and been satisfied with all of them.

    Outboard under 150 hp using SS prop gives little or no advantage, your wasting your money.

    Performance won’t be much better, but durability sure will.

    Not true at all, I got 4 MPH more top speed, better handling and better hole shot by switching to a stainless.

    Depends of your buddy's gear case. Have him look at this;

    The Spitfire X7 Stainless Steel Propeller (8M00855551) can be used on Mercury and Mariner 75 hp through 125 hp 4-stroke AND 2-cycles outboards (1978 and newer, with a Gear case ratio of 2.07:1.)

    No one can be wrong that often so it has to be deliberate.

    It always depends on the props you are comparing/replacing.
