The Scorpion is a 15 1/8 inch 3- bladed prop which has adjustable vent holes.

Yes the new Solas Scorpion is a Rubex. https://www.solaspropellers.com/inde.../item/rubex-s3

I just put a 26 pitch Scorpion on my 2008 Ranger Z520 with a 2016 250SS and 12' Talons on a manual jack plate. My prop to pad is down at 3.5" if I remember right. I want to raise it up some because I'm getting plenty of water pressure at WOT. I have hit 66 mph when by myself. I regularly captain my son's high school bass fishing team, so with 3 people in the boat and tackle and half a tank of gas, we were running 63 mph. Next tournament will be after our season opens in Michigan, so will have to see how it runs with a full livewell too. Right now I have my prop vents open about 25% and still get a pretty good holeshot.

Bought the boat middle of the summer last year and the boat came with a 27P Suzuki 4 blade prop that is well used... after adding my 12' Talons it was terrible out of the hole and wouldn't get on pad with 3 people unless someone got on the front deck. I bought a used Power Tech 27P 4 blade prop and that worked better but wasn't the right fit. I had a Trophy Plus 25P from my previous boat and ran that for my final tournament because it got on pad easy, but only ran 55 mph at 6000 rpm. So over the winter I bought the Scorpion 25P and 26P and tried the 26P first and it is the best fit for my heavy tournament loaded boat. I am going to sell the 25P and buy a 27P to have to test when I'm just running 2 person tournaments. I think with the vent hole adjustability I can still get a good holeshot with the 27P like most everyone else is running on the 250SS.

Cool, should be a good fit for you.

I forgot that I am using this hub kit too. Solas RBX-104 Rubex Hub Kit for Select Evinrude/Johnson/BRP/Suzuki

    Solas - Scorpion
    Rubex - S3

Bothe the same prop. I believe when they label it as a Solas prop it has a press in hub and the Rubex line has a removable hub.

So far with only a couple ru s withthe solas, I’m getting 67 fully loaded with just me. I think I should be getting more speed, Running 6100-6200. prop to pad is about 3. 2011 z8. tomorrow I’m gonna try the 26 fury at same motor height. It doesn’t feel like i’m getting the lift I need with the Solas

A fury prop don’t perform very well with Suzukis for whatever reason since they are a smaller diameter. Do you by chance have a hydraulic jackplate? I’d play with your height more and if you don’t, maybe lower it some since the Scorpion is a larger diameter prop.

I do have an hydraulic plate, Which I do need to play with the height. I feel like I need more lift.

Since you are still in break in. what did you tell Croxton to do? Just curious, cause I definitely need more lift.

I've run my Scorpion 26P a lot now that the high school tournaments are in full swing, and with 3 people and about 3/4 tank of fuel we hit 63.5 mph Sunday morning on calm water. I'm turning 6100-6200 RPM and have had to back off it slightly. I had my prop vents open about 1/8 and with a full livewell it took a couple of seconds longer to get on plane. (They are a half moon cover that slides around the screw for anyone that doesn't know about the built-in vent system.) I opened them up about 1/2 last night and will see how that helps tonight. With 2 guys it got on plane just fine open 1/8. So for a spare prop, I'm pretty sure I'm going to order a 27P. I did raise the motor up to about 3" Prop to Pad now. It was at 3.5" and I had to raise the jackplate all the way up to drill and tap the jackplate for a new transducer bracket. I left it up about 3/8" higher than before. I'm getting 12 psi at WOT.

Overall very happy with the Scorpion. The lakes aren't usually calm enough to run WOT, so the holeshot while heavy loaded is my top priority.
