    Carpet Weight?

I really need to replace the carpet in my 2005 198. lots of wear and sun over the years has taken a toll on the original carpet. Does anyone out there know what weight carpet was used in these rigs back in 2005? To thick and you can't open the lids but I want it to last, so I need to know what was used back then.

Use the thickest you can get, lotta folks use the Bass Cat heavy and a good installer knows how to "shave" the lid overlaps.

I just had mine re-carpeted with 24oz Syntec along with padding the front deck along with the rod locker and tackle compartment lids. Lids are a bit tight all around, but figure that will resolve itself

I did mine with 24. Yes, they're snug, especially at first, but I'm glad I did it. And, I padded ALL the upper surfaces of all decks and lids.

24 oz bass cat is great. I padded the front deck & used hair trimmer to make lids less tight.
