    PrecisionSonar,
That look really clean. Did you somehow support the mounting plate? If I wanted the top unit, regardless of size, to be on almost the same "plane" as the front, do you have a higher bracket for the back?

Yes, we have 4- and 6-inch Smart Brackets | Precision Sonar

We use the base plate and a backer plate to sandwich the two together.

I added screws through the shroud to the fiberglass below. It's solid. No flex whatsoever. PXL_20230518_142335622.jpgPXL_20230518_142344970.jpgPXL_20230518_142407217.jpgPXL_20230518_142416681.jpg

Predrill and tap the holes using the same factory hole pattern. My thinking is if any movement took place the force would also be on the deck too and not just the mounting plate.

Hope this description makes sense. It does in my head but that doesn't always translate well.
I was thinking best thing would be to somehow, drill hole through the bar, and put a nut on the back. Give more thread engagement and not bugger up the al bar. A "weld nut" would be perfect.

I didn't trust the bow plate to mount two graphs, so I used a DekIT mount. It's over the pedal and then a second lock down point above the shroud with a lock nut. It's ROCK solid. No affiliation but feel it was the best choice for a phoenix.

The hardest part is hitting the fiberglass below. Get long screws too.

Well, i think i might have solved it or at least for my setup....had a few thoughts on what to do but a post above talked about welding a nut to a piece of stock and going that route....i had a couple of brackets that i straightened out and made it a best fit. First welded a nut to it but when i put it on it was hard to get the bolt started on the top side. So i tried welding the bolt to the bracket and it worked out better......was able to put it back together and feels solid....dont think i'll worry about it....now it's not professional looking but best i could do with what i had.

fishin couillon... that looks very doable and cost effective! Thank you for posting the pictures. After seeing what you did I think that welding the bolts to the brackets is definitely the better way to go. Could even find a rubber cap to go over the exposed nuts. You should never have exposed nuts

fishin couillon or someone else: You could start selling those, kinda like the Ultrex lift assist.

I don't know why the mount makers, BBT, Precision, HOE.... do not offer that option with the shroud mounts!??

I was thinking about some type of bracket on the outside of the brackets to the deck, BUT that is MUCH cleaner and looks like it is part of the mount install kit; which it should be!

I better hurry up and file a patent for those.....they will start showing up in the mount kits.....

I agree with Bj, something should be included to help with that, no matter what brand....yeah it would be a few extra dollars, but when the shroud comes off with everything, more problems than just a few dollars...

Someone had posted a pic where they had a small bracket on outside screwed to the bow, personally didn't like it....of course there is more than one way to skin a cat....
