    Blown 2016 250 SHO options?

I have a 2016 250 SHO mechanic said leaking from port side head. Starboard head shows some rust on cam shaft. They report block looks good but they did not do dye test on it to see if it had any micro cracks. Everything else on the engine is in great shape. Motor had 156hrs. Lower unit has less than 50hrs. Mechanic told me best option would be a new power head for it. Not sure if I should find somewhere to rebuild or just repower. I’m leaning towards a repower but dealer won’t take motor in on trade, so I’m not sure how I would sell the engine. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is curious, did you establish what caused the blown head? The more knowledge we can gather about blown engines the more we can do to try to prevent it. Thanks for any insight you can give us as to cause.

They didn’t find anything that would’ve caused it.

Talk to Hydro-tech and see what they have to say unless that is who you have already talked to.
