Braided line cutters that will last?

I have read other posts about braid line cutters and I have yet to find any that will last more than a few months without getting dull. I have tried Boomerang (2) Pit bull (2) Cuda, Fiskars and they all dull after a few months use. Mark Perry mentioned Gerbers. Anyone else tried them? And Mark if you see this are you still liking them?
Maybe I am just too hard on them?

I've had about the same luck as you.
I've tried sharpening the pit bull with no success. Go thru about two pair a season.
They same to work longer on the bigger braid but not so much with the smaller lines.

The gerbers are good for sure. The cuda ones are cheap enough that I have several laying around. No one pair gets warn out.

I've had good luck with the Cuda 5" braid shears, but not the 3" braid scissors. But I also don't fish as much as a lot of guys do, so that is at least partially why they last for me.

I’m sure I’ll get pushback on these but this is what I use

They last longer than I can avoid losing them and they don’t cost that much compared to others

The longest I’ve gone is 3-1/2 years before I dropped them in the lake
    (Done that twice now)
But they never got dull in that time

They are small, lightweight and also have a clip to hang off a belt loop

None will last. Buy cheap and replace every year or so.

These work exceptionally well. You'll lose them before they wear out. They are not created equal. Take some 10# or 20# braid with you and keep trying them out, in the store, before buying them.

I have used a small pair of heavy sewing scissors for years and never had to sharpen them.

I usually buy a few pairs of Fiskars at the start of the school year when Wal-Mart runs their sale. If you are diligent, you can find them for $0.99. I keep two or three in the boat, the rest in my tournament spare kit in the back of my truck. Didn't buy any this year as my truck box is still full.

One key thing to make what ever braid cutter you use lasts is to NOT cut mono or fluro with them. Buy you a pair of dykes or side cutters for that. Scissors aren't made to cut wire.

I just buy the bass pro brand braided line scissors cheap enough and get the job done for around $5.00

I can't imagine why these didn't work for you. Mine are several years old and still cut fine. They get used at least 3 day a week if not more - if you add in the days I use them prepping gear in the shop. They have a notch at the bottom on the blades for cutting mono/fluoro.
