    Cracked trailer frame near Schaumburg

    Hey guys,

I got my boat out of storage and when I got it home, I noticed the frame cracked somewhere along the way. The crack is on the rear cross-brace, just under the bunk. Looking at it, I think the whole cross brace needs to be replaced as there's a big rust hole in the center of the cross brace, underneath.

I'm wondering where to take something like this to be fixed. Do I bring it to my mechanic, or a welder, or what? Where can I find a cross brace?

I live near Schaumburg Illinois, so would like to find some help locally to avoid having to trailer this thing very far....preferably not at all...

Take it to a trailer company, that builds them.

You might have more rust than you think. Get it to a shop YOU can trust. It can be repaired but if its rusted thru you can almost bet on more problems elsewhere. Most trailer shops have very little experience with boat Trailers. A boat dealer might be a better resource.
    Don't know about either one:
GTS trailers in Addison 630-332-2010 Advantage Trailer 630-580-5840.
    Please release me,let me go.

There may be more rust than is being seen! May be time to get a new or used C channel trailer.

That is probably the best option.

Go to Advantage Trailer on 64 and Gary in Carol Stream, 630-349-6211. They build custom trailers as well. They do great work. Did a swing tongue for me that required them to cut, weld and fabricate (still going strong), replaced a buddy's axle, etc.
