Was at Webster last Sunday and couldn't find any bigguns to bite. Lots of cruisers but no takers.
Got 13 Tuesday on cranks in 4 hours or so. Most 4-5 hour days have been 2-4 fish. Waters have been running 51-53 uniformly and high.
I’ve been getting out with water temps in the 55 to 60 range ,not a lot of big ones but some decent days so far ,5.04 is the biggest and smallies are on beds down the cape But the traffic is intense because of the bridge project .Saturdays are not too bad but any day can be tough

Ever since that hot spell we had, I noticed the fishing's been tuff, Ive seen fish nesting at Rogers Lake in Old Lyme, Ct., 2 weeks ago, then it got cold and the bite really slowed down
I just fished a 35 boat tourney yesterday at Mansfield Hollow, CT. and Won with 14.10 and a 5.7 Lunker, 7 keepers for the day
Mansfield Hollow is a flood control lake, the water was up 10 feet last week, so this water level fluctuation screws the fish up big time.
That seems to be the average for me lately, 5-7 keepers each trip

I’ve hooked about 20 fish this spring 4-5 and even one or two bigger … just can’t get them all the way in the boat .. it’s like a curse .. as soon as I get a good look at them they magically unhook
Doing pretty good on 1-2-3 pounds and can’t lose a trash fish if I try
Strangest spring I have ever had that I can remember
up to last week, I was doing very well on big fish, several 5s and lots of 4s. This week I practiced casting pretty much.
IMG_1241.JPG Buddy got this 5-14 on Sunday

Well had a tourney saturday and what a temp change from friday temp was almost 80 and then sat was 56*, water temp was 66 to 70* and the wind was rippin at 15 to 20 with gust to 30 NNE but the bite was on caught between 25 to 30 bass with my partner and had a 5 fish limit for 15+change with a 4.26 for 2nd place and winning weight was 19.19 with a 5.16 so it didn't affect them like I thought it would ...

Been out a few times in the last couple weeks. Hit brimfield res and Hamilton two weeks ago. Did ok on moving baits, both days were pretty windy. Hit Quabaog for a few hours this Sat. Was windy again and cold and drizzly. Thought I could push a spinnerbait bite but only a couple shorts, went up in the river to try to get out of the wind. Was still windy but without the chop. Did pretty good on hollow frogs
Got out on Sunday to a local spot in southern NH, did really well in the morning on isolated rock piles and boulders a decent distance from the bank, but not far enough that I would call it offshore. Once the wind picked up, they shifted to the bank and we cracked them on weightless t-rigged flukes. Couple of 3's, a 4-01 on the jig early in the morning, and tons of 2's. All in all a solid day of good post spawn fishing.
Been boon or bust with mostly boon for me so far this year. Topwater walking baits over slightly submerged weeds and the good ol' Texas rig has been good to me this year.
Cobbee stream up here in Maine First fish of the day was 5, next pic was at the end of the day at 4-11
