    Glacial Lake Activity

Headed up to Webster SD area at the end of the month for a week of fishing various glacial lakes for smallies and largies. I know the weather has remained a little cooler than normal this year so was just wondering what stage of the spawn should we expect the bass to be in around that time? Any pointers for what kind of areas and conditions to target? Is zeroing in on or around bluegill spawning areas effective?

Honestly those lakes can all very in there stages. They are all in different stages at different times. The end of the month there will be fishing doing everything and in every stage. Just go fishing and have fun. Last year I caught spawning smallmouth on beds and Smallies in 25’ on deep rock piles.

So no different than what we've done every year huh. We always catch fish with about every technique we try, just not consistently. Seems its a bit different every year with no predictable pattern. Thanks for the reply
