Has anybody ever replaced steering cable in their Ranger Cherokee 207/217 , was is it easy ,simple to do without pulling the outboard ? Thanks in advance for any info .

Has anybody ever replaced steering cable in their Ranger Cherokee 207/217 , was is it easy ,simple to do without pulling the outboard ? Thanks in advance for any info .
Usually need to at least be able to swing the outboard.

You are saying just turn it to one side. It is very easy to turn it by hand at the motor .
All set . Had to separate to motor from the boat, cable went in easy . A bit tough to get new helm bolted to console . Need a younger , stronger son to get it together . ����
Got it done, nice.
By swing I meant OB unbolted and swing from direction of cable as it's removed.
