New Rig!: Recommended TM shaft length for Alpha 211R

Hi guys, just picked up a 2018 Alpha 211R, clean as a whistle... 70 hours! She came rigged up with a 52" Fortrex. Looking to switch to an Ultrex. What shaft length do you recommend, the 45" or 52". My preference would be the 45" as I don't like when the head is sticking too far up while deployed. Thanks!

    Just depends how you fish
You can lower the 52 all the way down so the head will be same height as the 45
I have a 45 on mine and that's what I would probably recommend if you fish shallow more often than deep..
But there have been a few days when I wish i had the 52.. especially if you fish big water where it gets rough, the 45 will spend more time in the air and spot lock would be difficult

That's a good looking rig, Joel . The 211 was on my short list when I found the 210 I have now.

Thanks Reggie! I'm really liking it a lot... some similar characteristics of the champ with better storage/configuration.

Alpha 199. Running a 45" Ghost. I fish offshore big lakes. Have never need a 52"

Thanks Kevin. What’s the consensus best prop for the 211. This one came with a Fury 25, which seems right from research. I also have a 26p tempest plus

Pretty much everyone says fury 25
    While I have a fury 25 I personally prefer the tempest 25

Another question, the passenger side front rod locker has a tube organizer that seems to be attached at the top of the organizer. I didn't see how it was attached, but considering taking it out. Anyone know how that can be done without damaging anything?

Under the locker lid at front are three screws (Alpha 199, should be same)

    Ghost has a 47" shaft, not a 45".

Just to update, I went with the 52" Ultrex so I have the flexibility of Fortrex back up. I went back and forth over this, and really liked my previous Ghost, but ultimately the Ultrex won out. Some factors were 1. Serviceability, 2. Fortrex backup, 3. Mega 360 mounting 4. Livescope alignment with head movement 5. Price

I also factored in if the 52" is too long, I can always bring it to a repair shop and have them take it down two inches.
