If you prop them correctly, they do well.

Prop seems to be the big variable. I hit 74 mph on my 250ss so I can't complain about speed.

Try a Scorpion 27P prop since that seems to be the ticket with this motor. The only other prop that I've had descent success with is a PT Prop BRVR4 28P or Croxton Razor XL 27P.

Yeah I think 95% of people run a 27P. I am the only person I have heard of running a 28p. The manufacturer of my boat test both on my boat and said the 28p got a few more MPH and better hole shot.

The Solas/Rubex lexor L4 prop is a good choice to try if looking for a 4 blade.

Just put a 250ss on my ranger z21. Going from a 2 stroke merc the holeshot and mid range is night & day difference. As far as top end my merc would run 67-68. I just had a scorpion 26p worked by Croxton. Last week with 2 people I hit 66. I am still in the break in period so I did not keep it pegged to get every mph out of it (only have 8-9 hours on motor). Once the motor is broke in I think I will be within 1 mph of my old merc.
    Old Merc 67-68 mph
Stock suzuki 4 blade 27p - 64 mph (Not enough rpms, waiting on dealer to swap with 26p but on backorder
    Scorpion 26p stock - 64.5 mph
    Worked scorpion 26p - 66 mph

Do you have the new style of the 250SS or the legacy one?

I am running the older model. I originally placed a order for the new style when it was released last summer but they pushed the production of these so I went with the older gen.

if you have the newer Suzuki prop it stinks. Newer meaning 2016 to the newest model that came out with this new engine. My initial 28 x 14.5 4 blade is way way better than my post 2016 Suzuki prop of the same size. Night and day difference.
