    Suzuki 20 HP Prop

The book said's Max RPM is 5300-6300, every thing I read saids that you want to be close to your max so your not laboring the engine. With a 10 pitch I'm at 5850 so my question is should I go down 1 in pitch so I rev a little higher ? With the 10 I'm getting 21 MPH. Thanks

I use a 9p on my boat most of the time especially when there are two of us on it. On my own I hit the rev limiter, so I can put a 10 on it for solo missions. 1" pitch makes a big difference on little motors

Tim they say that going down 1 inch in pitch will raise the RPM by about 200,is it going to be easier on my engine running a 9 pitch and hitting about 6050 wide open ? I know I can troll a little slower

I'm sure the 200 RPM thing is true with 250hp motors, but expect it's considerably more with our little motors, it's a 10% change in gearing, compared to under 5% for a 250hp motor

Good point, I guess I'll stay with the 10 pitch

The props are cheap enough, you can get one to try, if you hit the limiter, keep it as a spare of for when you're carrying a load.
