Question Larger Gearcase on a 115 Optimax? Is it possible?

2007 115 Optimax on the 22’ Pontoon - I’m at high elevation so it’s a dog for the most part but I’m testing out props and figured to ask - can I just purchase an SEI 150+Hp Mercury Lower Unit and install it on the Optimax? Just like their more modern “command thrust” models?

and if so being able to spin a larger prop with better gearing get me any performance difference worth the hassle?

Get a 4 blade prop in the right pitch.
