    Opening Day Turkey Double

Melissa got her first bird, and I got my first double. Her bird was 20 lbs., mine was 26.6 lbs.

Both had 10-1/4" beards, and spurs were almost identical at 15/16" except one of hers was 1" so she officially beat me.

Very nice!! I’ve only heard two birds this season, both sounded like they were three counties away.

Congrats on a good day. I've been watching one that comes to the birdfeeder but I don't think he's any 26 pounder. Season opens next week. Maybe I'll buy a tag and pop one.

Good job! I’d love to hunt Michigan. I’ve seen some fine gobblers while fishing Charlevoix. Beautiful county up there.

Had a nice gobbler fly face level from one side to the other while I was cruising down Kentucky Lake one time just 30 mins or so after first light. Actually had to slow down a bit because he appeared to be on a collision course with the boat. True story.
