I have a 21 tempest and a 21 trophy. Just picked up a 23 tempest to try. Wondering what you guys to prop tonoad on these hulls. The motor is a non sho Yamaha I get about 57-58 2 guys fuel and gear. Wanted to get at least 60. Any insight would be awesome.

I like the FXP or TXP and 23 pitch is a max for the150 in my opinion. 10” or 12” jack plate set at 2.75-3” prop to pad may get you there. You need plenty of bow lift for best speed performance

I had a 2011 H18 with a VMAX 150 2 stroke (Not SHO) and I had a 25p tempest on it. 5800 rpms tapping out at 70mph. Jumped out the hole like a boss! It was awesome. 12" hydraulic jackplate. Bow lift wasnt an issue.20190415_113134.jpg

Do you have the 2 stroke Vmax or the regular 4 stroke on there? The weight of the motor and the weight distribution setup in your boat will make a difference of PTP as well, in my opinion.

Ok, that makes a difference as well. 3.5 sounds about right. It took me about 3 months of trying different things before I got it to where I liked it. Good luck!

Thanks I appreciate it. I don’t carry a lot of gear. I bring what is needed typically have half a tank of fuel in it at all times.
