Well that’s a very loaded question. To answer your question I would get an intercomp digital. Very accurate down to the .1 for setting racing tires etc. Runs $350.

If your asking about one for checking your tires twice a year just about any will do. However a dial or digital will be more accurate than a pencil type gauge.

+1 on Intercomp. Been using them for years in racing, where small psi adjustments have a significant effect. Not cheap, but very accurate

This is the one I have or similar. You never lose it and it pushes straight in so accurate reading every time. However I keep this in my garage. Whatever one you choose, make sure it reads pressure to the vehicles rated poundage, don't get one that only goes to 50 PSI, when the tire is rated for 80 PSI

Milton S-505 has worked great for me, made in USA

Otherwise I'll pull out the portable compressor with digital readout. Set desired pressure and hit go.

If you already have Dewalt batteries, this one does well including 60psi trailer tires.

No inexpensive gauge is accurate (correct). They will however usually give you a good reading when new. A "stick" gauge seems to me to be as good as a dial gauge that's been dropped a time or two. Same for inexpensive digital ones.
A gauge is accurate only if it has been tested to a standard that is regularly compared to another standard that is regularly tested by a method or other gauge that has a traceability to the National Institute of Standards laboratory.
I'd bet if you went into a repair shop and took all the shop and technician's pressure gauges and compared them you'd be lucky to find two that read the same out of say....20 gauges.
For all around use, they do what is necessary, get you in the ballpark.
