    Installing Wet Bolt Kit

I decided to upgrade my trailer with a wet bolt kit and when I removed the first side this is what it looked like. Notice all the plastic bushings were absolutely destroyed. The bolt hole on the shackles are elongated and the top bolts all show extensive wear near the treads and head of the bolt. Trailstar needs to stop cutting corners and provide brass bushings instead of the plastic crap they're putting on the trailers. It's sad the hardware they put on these trailers! I will post an update once I get the new hardware installed. Based on my experience I would highly recommend replacing the junk hardware with real hardware.

Mine looked worse than that after only 1 year. Glad I did the Dexter kit.

Not that bad actually. Most manufacturers do not use brass bushings. Maybe a higher grade of nylon.

The new trailers they are building are better, my Z21 has beefed up shackles. I'm hearing no popping and creaks coming from my trailer. in the past this was all happening after the 2nd week of ownership.

I too just did the full EZ Flex kit, less than a year old the plastic bushings were worn thru.

Kit wasnt the greatest/easiest to put on my specific trailer but so far so good. The spare tire is the only thing that makes noise on my trailer. Soon I will have that rectified also with a split hose around the bent rod mount.

This got me thinking about doing this to my trailer and its rather easy to find out what kit you need, single or double axel, spring shackle width (1 3/4) and for a tandem axle center to center of you axle spacing(33")

I have on one the way

Pictures from the starboard side equalizer bolts and shackles. The left shackle was one pothole or bounce away from a total failure. When I took it for a ride ALL the noises I used to hear were gone. I went through a parking lot with speed bumps and it was smooth and quite. What a great investment for your trailer.

I used the Dexter K71-652-00 Tandem Kit for 33" axle spacing and axles up to 6000lbs.
