Can a broken rod be salvaged for parts?

I have a broken St. Croix Legend X (broke for warranty due to loose reel seat). All guides are good, handle good…

Didn’t know if this is something that can be used for parts on another rod build?

if so, I’d be interested in selling or possibly giving to someone to build me a rod

Absolutely. Guides and tip tops are very easy to remove and you can reuse them on another rod. The reel seat might be salvageable too

When you say loose reel seat does it spin? you can often reglue a seat so it doesn't spin

Sorry, just looked at the picture and saw its in two pieces.

Whole handle assembly would spin around. Per St. Croix warranty, you must break rod to get replacement

Depending on where the reel seat is spinning you can salvage the reel seat or the seat and installed sleeve that was adhered to the blank and of course the guides. Cut the thread off the top of the guide feet and unravel, then pull off guide. I remove tip tops by using a piece of string or fishing line, a fairly stout rubber band and a paperclip. the paperclip is a heat sink separating the rubber band from the hot tip top. Tie off the line to something solid and the rubber band, paperclip to the rubber band and clipped to tip top, put it under the tension and heat the tip top tube till it pops off by itself, this ensures the minimum heat necessary has been used, because we must remember the tip top ring is also glued in.

I know what happened here, you tried casting whatever bait that's in the background with that huge treble hook.
