    I Bond Rates

CNBC story says the may fall below 4% in May. I may redeem after my next reset and go to a longer term CD.

Are you redeeming your longest held (beyond 5 years) to ensure you don't have to forego the last 3 months of earned interest?

No. If they reset under 4% I may just see if I can find a longer term CD in the 5% range. These are under 5 years.

Cashing mine in come Aug 1 so if I loose 3 month, I still have 1 full yr of interested. Local bank has 5 month CD for 4.53%, so I will take the 40K and put it into something like that till the market comes around.

I'm likely cashing mine in September, as that will be month 16 for me, so I'll get the 9.62 and 6.89 and forfeit the lower interest...

So I locked in the high I bond rate starting April 1 2021. Currently getting the 6.48% rate. So I need to hold on to these until Aug 1st to avoid losing the 6.48% interest?
