That's terrible, so sorry. Did the tree come down in a storm?

Exactly, one tree in the neighborhood comes down right where the boat is parked. The tree snapped off about 30 feet up so there was a lot of gravity involved!

Dang, I hate that and they don’t make them like that any more. JM redesigned the hull to fit his robotic welding process and eliminated the extruded aluminum keel.
Hope this works out to your satisfaction without a huge hassle.

So sorry for your loss, hopefully your insurance will cover it. Looks like there are a lot of good parts left on that boat/trailer, maybe buy it back from the insurance and sell off the good parts to recoop some of your losses ?

My 2014 RT188 was on the 2018 EZ Loader trailer that came with my 2018 RT188 that is at Smith Mountain Lake, yes it’s kind of complicated! Amazingly the trailer only suffered minor damage and today we towed the damaged boat back to Virginia. Overall it was a 51 hour trip of which 24 hours was spent driving up and down I-81. I’ve already filed the insurance claim, tomorrow I get to talk to a live person.

So true. Now to find a repair shop that will give a declaration that the boat is totaled ( or repairable, that would be ok). Harder than one would expect.

A lot of times a insurance company will send out their own adjuster to look at it. I would check with my insurance company.

Sooooo....what's going on with the claim?? Covered to your satisfaction?

I am skeptical about insurance coverage. I could tell you some bad stories about insurance down here. They never want to pay what something is worth to buy an equal replacement.

Sorry it happened... I hope you get a satisfactory outcome... good luck.
