    Best CD rates?

Ok, who has the best CD rates currently? My Credit Union who I’ve done business with for for years has 4.2% for a 13 month which is just ok. I found a bank that has 5% for a 6 month but never heard of them before:

Anybody else got a better CD rate from a decent bank?

I just got one at my credit union last week for 4.9% for 18 months. I’ve seen 5% advertised, but like you I never heard of them.

Thanks Nitro…that’s a well know institution. Always looking for good deals to stash some cash.

I would buy it but my account is with Schwab so I didn't want to go over FDIC.

My local bank had 4.1 about two months ago for eleven months. I took it but I'm expecting more when it matures. The most I've ever got was 7.25 several years ago. Not going to lie. I'd like more of that to make up for the last several years of almost zero.

What kind of savings instrument do you have your cash in there that pays more than their CD? Or is it longer term CDs?
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,

I keep cash in the account to sell put options. I got rid of my margin because of the wrinkle in SIPC protection so everything has to be covered by cash.

My local bank is up to 4.96 for eleven months.

At what point does it become feasible to cash in my 4.1 and pay the penalty and re invest in the 4.96.
