    721 Set Up

Currently having some trouble getting some speed out of my 2012 721. Running a 2016 Mercury 250 Pro XS 2 stroke turning a new fury 25P at 5700 rpm, dual 10 foot talons, 10” z-lock manual Jackplate. Current prop to pad is 2.5”. Also have 1 X2 AGM and 3 Lead acid interstate batteries in the back. Have tried about every combination of weight throughout the boat and still have trouble hitting 70 mph. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks I’m advance.

Them talons will slow you down. Try 3 inches under pad or 3.25 and add 2 inch spacers or a 12" plate.

I agree with Travis, drop it down to 3" or so. I ran my 2013 721 at 3-1/8". My buddy that bought it has bumped 76, but he weighs 100 lbs less then I do and does not carry a Bass Pro shop in the boat.
