I know this is probably more about rigging but using a 1/16oz bullet weight above hook or a 1/16oz wacky jighead. Buy the trick sticks/ochos in bulk and i'm not too tore up about losing a .33 bait after a few fish

This may sound odd but have used black electrical tape wrapped around the middle then the hook through that. Seems to get a few extra fish out of a bait

That's what I currently do now. Use the vmc hooks and shrink wrap
