    I'm not a take a cruise kinda guy, but...

    Somehow came across American Cruise Lines. Got to looking more into it and just got a brochure I requested. If they were a mega ship that holds the population of a small town I would have no interest. They have five categories of cruises. New England, Mississippi River, Snake/Colorado River, Puget Sound, Alaska and Southeast coast.

    Ships' capacities are from 90 to 180 depending on the type of ship.

    I like one page in the brochure that states "What we are Not"

    * No mega ships
    * No overtourism or crowded ports
    * No pre-paid beverage packages
    * No casinos, no pools, no small state rooms
    * No fake balconies
    * No nickel and diming - no point of sale displays
    * No lines

    Need to spend that retirement money on something.

    New England cruise sounds good if you can take it in the fall when the leaves are changing color.

    They are all nice, but the Ms River cruise would be great.

    I think those would be a much better choice than the cruises we've been on, but the Mrs is not interested. They are expensive, but look like lots of great sight seeing of our country. They also have river cruises in Europe and those are equally as expensive.

    5 in 6 days with 2 days in San Juan? Are you at the other ports like 10 minutes?

    We're also looking at the American Cruises. The wine cruises look great along with a few of the Southern Louisiana ones.

    The Snake/ Columbia would be fun as I grew up driving that route, but then again I couldn't fish smallies or Sturgeon along the way.

    Sounds great, but I like most all cruise lines. But yes, cruising is not a cheap date anymore.

    Did the New England cruise in October and it was really nice . Wife wants to do a Great Lakes cruise next year or a partial Mississippi River cruise.
