    Skeeter/SHO key on power

Unlike a car, there's no "accessory" position for key switch. So when I'm checking/adjusting gauges, wiring, fuel senders, etc which need key switch on for power, it also energizes the fuel pump and maybe throttle motor each time. I assume this may not be good for the pump especially when there's no fuel in the tank. Is there any way around this? Thankyou

If the key is turned to the on position, and the motor is not started, the high pressure fuel pump will only run for several seconds. It is then turned off automatically by the ECU. Only when the motor is being cranked will the fuel pump be turned back on.

The electronic throttle valve suffers no harm from being left on for long periods of time, motor running or not.
