    7'2" Medium baitcaster

Looking for recommendations on a 7'2" medium baitcaster rod that won't break the bank.

Are you looking for something for bottom contact baits, moving baits, or something you can throw both on?

I also love Alx rods and own 8 or 9, but if I had to pick one multipurpose rod it would be a Dobyns 744. Champion will set you back $250 or so and Sierra series around $170. ALX Ikos promise 73 is another great all around rod, but I find it a little stout for things like smaller swim jigs and hornet toads.

I think the Falcon Bucoo line up is some of the most under rated rods out there right now.

I'd take a look at the Victory series from St. Croix.

all of the St Croix rods are great. Another option is their bass X line. About $125 and you can get the trade-in discount at BPS with the Spring Classic.

7'2 medium for $100. Ark rods are all I throw. I have several different of their series of rods and have 0 complaints about any of them.

If the rod is going to be used for cranking check out the BPS Carbonlite rods. They're pretty much all I use for my chunking and reeling needs and they work great for it. They're OK for bottom contact stuff but there are better choices in that price range for that. Being a medium suggestion I just assumed you wanted something for cranking. My other suggestion is the Abu Vendetta.

+2 for the St Croix Victory. This or a Dobyns Sierra. I have several of each. Great rods for middle of the road price point

Anyone that hasn't taken advantage of the BPS Spring Classic should seriously consider. I saved $80 on a new combo last week when I traded in an old fenwick rod and cheap diawa baitcaster thats been sitting in the corner for 20 years.

St Croix Mojo could be a good option. I love mine, but they were hit with a price hike a while back putting them in the $150-170 range. Cashion makes a good rod too and right here in NC. They don't have a $100 option anymore like my CRT, but the Element looks good at $130 and is on my list.
