The article states they are ending production on the current generation Camaro. I imagine it’s due for a design change, bern around awhile.

Amazing that American car companies that made some great classic cars have reached a point where they can’t find their butt with both hands. Proof that new technology and manufacturing processes are not guarantees of success.

It will be a redesign to electric likely and will be quicker and more nimble. Dodge and Chevy are making this move to capture a "new" muscle car crowd. Most of the younger generation now could give a rats ass about the beautiful sounds of a small block Chevy, or Hemi, or that even today you can wrench on them some to improve or customize what you have. They just want easy out of the box performance. Future kids will talk about upping the processor speeds on their cars to get them to perform better by making calculations and adjustments faster. I don't get it, love the rumble of a Big Block Ford.

I don't follow the EV market much, but you'd think someone would come out with a performance model. Probably just a matter of time.

Why not just have both. They are limiting their market share by only EV bs.

Seems like the new epa mandate is 40 mpg fleet average by 2026. I could be wrong, but it’s up there.

My C8 corvette is a monster. Drives like nothing else I have ever driven. Light years ahead of the C7 in handling and performance. I cant believe they can sell that car as cheap as they do. GM only has one factory in Bowling Green for Corvettes. It runs and maximum capacity. When I got on the order list when the would take reservations in 2020, it took 15 months to get and came as a 2021 at the same price as the 2020.

I drove a 2003 SVT Cobra Mustang for several years then sold it. Dumbest move I ever made concerning cars. The car was a beast!

Yep-that’s the one I test drive. Awesome car! Should have bought it.

The Camaro will be back but as an electric. Honestly, if there was a solid electric sports car that was priced similarly to a gas V8 Camaro or Mustang and it looked great, I’d consider it. But the Tesla 3 doesn’t cut it for me. I say this even though I love the v8 rumble.

my kids could care less about “sound”. How the car looks is at the top of their car priority, and if it’s fast they’d like that part too. But they just don’t care about what the exhaust sounds like. Which to me indicates the shift to electric is definitely coming sooner than later. Now if they could just figure out the range issues when towing…

For 25K units a year, better to go the Corvette route and make them a limited-edition hand built premium car and jack the price up.
