Full face helmet for me as well. As always, you just have keep your head on a swivel to check your peripherals.

If you do decide to go with a helmet go to a quality motorcycle shop or racing supply store. Those folks can steer you in the right direction on helmets and the appropriate face shields to go with them.

Lol, we’ve been launching lately in low to mid 20’s, a buff won’t do chit in those temps and I own about 20 of them for fishing and skiing. The amount of air flow through painters goggles would have your eyes watering to where you couldn’t see in about 100yds.

Use Save Phase with stocking cap when only moderately cold and fairly short runs. My partner likes to run 75 on the River......I will wear my full face MC helmet with flip up eye cover. (snug as a bug)

Save face for me...but I modified mine a tad bit. Drilled some holes along the mouth area to allow for your breath to escape. Without it, they fog up so damn quickly.
Been fishin' since I was 5 years old...Thanks Grandpa!

Not a motorcycle helmet. If for whatever reason you are thrown from the boat at high speed the water coming in the helmet from going across the water could likely break your neck. Unlikely yes, but if it did happen I don’t think the outcome would be good.

I got this one 30 years ago. Don't know why they don't make them one anymore. Strap it right around your hood.

Motorcycle helmet with full face shield. If you get thrown from the boat you might break your neck, but if it's cold enough to need the helmet, you're already up schitts creek anyways.
I wear one in winter. It works great!

Full face motorcycle helmet from Amazon. $50 to $60, best money I’ve spent on fishing.

I’ve tried them all and by far baclava and ski mask have worked the best and take little room

I've always used a motorcycle helmet but my last one all the inside has came apart.
