    24xd mounting location

I'm having a tough time trying to figure out the best mounting location for the Garmin 24xd antenna/heading sensor on my 361V Ranger. Front of the boat - is that too close to magnets in the trolling motor? Rear of the boat - Will the heading sensor be accurate? Please advise.

I've always mounted my 24xd on the back deck in the rear corner (somewhere in proximity to the stern navigation light).

Thanks. I hate to drill a hole on the top cap. Do you think on the carpet would be OK?1679877927298353545884319010938.jpg

Yes, mounting on the deck thru carpet is fine as long as there’s no interference your good
