    Help repowering a javelin

Okay I have a 01 javelin renegade ( same hull as a stratos 273) . Currently has a 150 Johnson on it. It will run low 60’s without a jackplate. While calling around for a new motor I was afforded a killer deal on a 115 pro xs. Back in the day I know this boat would run mid to upper 50’s with a 115. Anyone have any experience with this? If I could run mid 50’s with a 115 and save 4k I would.thanks in advance

I’m leaning that way . I could put a jackplate on and still have money in my pocket.

I have a 273 with a 1999 Johnson 115 on it and perfect conditions......no rods, no tackle, driver only, 1/4 tank of gas or less......at best has been 58 mph......no jackplate....tournament load.....52-54 is realistic.
