Hey guys. Fishing Santee for the first time. Looking for some suggestions where to start. Not looking for anyone's spots just general depths and structure to concentrate on. Thanks in advance.

It's tougher than a pine knot right now but should get better as the week goes on.
I've been asking those questions as well over the months. Like are there any weeds in the lake and if so where? Not a tourny fisherman just looking to take a friend who needs to catch some good fish.

Just finished a T on Santee. The Rocks Pond area would be a good place to start. Fish the cypress trees and the back water areas. The backwater areas have some lily pads and milfoil is starting to take over some of the back water ponds.
Main lake areas the eel grass is coming back, good cover for the bass.
Fill it up with dirt and make it one heck of a golf course.
I hope you are doing well.
I have not had the boat in the water in almost 4 years.I have been having health problems.I had the open heart surgery in May of 2019,COVID twice, esophageal varices (could have killed me)” & catastrophic heart failure. The last 2 events had me in the hospital for 11 days total in Jan.I am feeling well & gaining weight & strength back.
Glad to hear you're on the mend. That's a tough row to hoe, so much for the golden years. Since I moved to FL I had the boat our maybe 5 times in 7 years, wasn't getting used so I drug it back to Lake Hartwell and gave it to my son, he's got a house on the lake and is using the hell out of it. Get well my friend we still need to hear your advice.
Thank You.
