    Remote Drain Plug Seal Lubrication

Any ideas on what should be used to lubricate the remote drain plug seal? Mine is not leaking but I have found that it doesn't want to actuate as easy as it did when it was new and I think the seal needs to be lubricated.

Some say electrical silicone, I've used olive oil with good results as silicone seemed to attract more road grime.

Go to a swimming pool supply store and it comes in a tube, specifically designed to be used in/around water. I have had great results with it.

I actually have some of that stuff already as we have a pool. It's called magic lube. Really thick stuff and I wasn't sure if it was too thick or not. I'll give that a try.

You can get o ring lube for faucets at Depot or Lowes. Don't use regular grease it will make the o ring swell.

I prefer to use cooking oil in a squirt bottle. Lasts for a few trips and reapply. Crisco may last a little longer than oil. Main point is vegetable oil is better for the water than petroleum based oils.
