Took an hour or so today to go to the local boat shop. The have 4 very nice brands and three of them make fiberglass bass boats. To say I was more than surprised would be an understatement. 110k for a Vexus, 109k for a Basscat? To replace my Ranger would be close to those prices. Looking back what I paid and have put into my Ranger approaches what a new rig would cost in those years dollars. Not going to buy a new one unless a money tree sprouts in the backyard or a rainbow ends nearby. Looked into a bay boat for a bit and.....wow are they pricey and much more so than bass boats. Could it be the price of raw material, labor or just markup?

I think you are going to see minimal price increases for 2024 bass boats, since retail sales are down 19% year over year

Skeeter has gone up 10% this year and 10% last year, so look for another 8-10% next year.

Wow, would love to hear what you investment(s) is/are and over what holding period they are averaging that net rate of return?

It's took years to the system down pat but now we revamp multifamily properties. Some we sell in 3-5 years and then and buy again under the 1031 exchange. Rinse and repeat. I still flip a few houses here and there along with rental houses I own.

All these boats was run through dealer as trade in , I signed over titles when buyer wanted boat so taxes have been averaging about $800 yeah ouch

I am not a huge fan of the stock market. I am shifting to strictly passivley investing from now on. It's worked out very good for me in the past and I don't have to do much. I don't want to be the lead on anything anymore. I am keeping some rental properties for some additional passive income but I took a job as a Deputy for the Sheriffs Department almost two years ago now I only have to work 15 days a month and its time to get back to fishing. The moral of the story is I am going to finance a new boat and let my money keep working for me rather that put it into a depreciating object.

Buying a boat like this sorta goes against the grain of what I’m trying to accomplish financially through my investments but at least these boats seem to hold their value pretty well all things considered. I am not out to pay this boat off anytime soon as I would rather use the bank‘s money so I can enjoy it until I sell it. Cost of admission is what you’re willing to give up for a year To own it.

totally insane but people are buying them. You could buy an FXR21 Apex for right at $80k new in 2021. Now they are 104k. So that makes the iKon boat more than $45k more than boats just 2 years ago.

You can almost buy 2 of the new Triton 20 XP's for the price of the Ikon. I don't see them selling the hundreds other people think.

And bass boats are nothing, I live down south and see these saltwater boats listed a hell of a lot higher then a bass boat
