    Repowering from 2002 Mercury 225 Optimax to a 2013 Mercury 250 Pro XS

    I am repowering my Triton TR21 from a 2002 Mercury 225 Optimax to a 2013 Mercury 250 Pro XS, just wanted to know if my throttle cable and shifter cable will work on the 250 Pro XS or if I need to purchase new cables? Serial number off my 225 Optimax is OT581023, serial number of the 250 Pro XS is 1B962308. Throttle cable is 14 foot going to hot foot and shifter cable is 12 foot going to control box.

    The only thing you will need is a 8 to 14 pin harness adaptor, I believe a 896542t01

    You may need a few other items- be sure to check the engine mounting hardware (always best to use NEW), the Steering System, and of course- you will likely want to upgrade the rigging tube and flange to match the newer engine.
