What torsion arm bolts are in a 2014 single axle ranger trailer…..Grade 5 or 8 ?……tips and precautions would be appreciated if I change them out myself.

There's several threads on this in the Bass Cat boats section, I am not familiar with Ranger but I believe for your year the bolts would be Grade 5, I am not sure if Ranger trailers use the same torsion arm as Bass cat but I would suspect they are similar...check out the thread for a discussion of the issues...hope this helps.

I replaced mine with grade 8 and torqued to 150 ft lbs. theses bolts are available at most hardware stores. They come on course thread or fine thread. Get new lock nuts also. It’s a easy swap to do. Mine kept getting loose. 2 years with the replacements and they haven’t loosened yet

A Grade 5 will have 3 lines on the head, and a Grade 8 will have 6 lines on the head and be yellow zinc coated.
