    Mounting Talon w/ tilt…adapter bracket necessary?

    I’m considering adding 15foot Talons with the tilt brackets. I don’t have a jack plate so it would be a direct bolt on to the transom (no issues there). The Minn Kota website indicates that I would also have to use an adapter bracket? Sure doesn’t make sense as the tilt bracket is just a glorified $500 hinge (each). Is the addition of the $400 (again…each) adapter bracket really needed? Thanks

    I believe so to move it further off transom to allow room to tilt.

    Do you think their 6” set back bracket would work as a spacer between transom & tilt…then attach they Raptor mount? Sure cheaper!
