    Cranking torque power

    Hi ALL,
May I know if there is a big difference in torque power when cranking ?

    SLXXT151 6.3 25

    SLX XT 151 ~ 6.3 with 25” of retrieve

    VS

    Cardiff 201 ~ 5.8 with 24” of retrieve

Is that one inch tired you when cast all day 3/4oz crank?
sorry if this sound stupid but one to get one for cranking and like the low profile look better and others been telling me drum style better for the job.

    Thoughts?

I use a 6.3 on my "everything up to a 5XD" cranking rod but for bigger ones like 6XD, 8XD, 10XD and magnum squarebills a 5.5 makes a huge difference in how long I can throw them.

Daiwa makes low profile low gear ratio reels. If the model ends with a "P", it's a 5.5 ratio. The Tatula 150 P will handle the big cranks just fine.

EDIT : I should have mentioned the "P" reels have a 23.3" retrieve

150p or the curado in 5 gear is what I would get.

This. Tatula 150 P is the best bang for your buck when it comes to a good cranking reel imo. It's butter smooth and stays that way ,also has 100 mm handle. Check tackle trap, they'll give you the forum discount.
I would not want a slx as a cranking reel. It has bushing for support on the main shaft above the anti reverse bearing , not a bearing like more expensive reels have. Cardiff is just too clunky feeling. But, to answer the question , 1" in retrieve will go unnoticed.
