I'm more than likely going to pull the trigger on two ECHOMAP Ultra units. Question I have can you run a in hull transducer as well as the ones that come with the units?
I'm switching from humminbird. Thanks in advance!!

Specifically the question you asked, No....you cant have a GT8(shoot thru sonar ducer) connected to a GT54/GT56 (3 in 1 ducer) on same unit. You have a few options: If both units are being installed on the console, you can connect the GT8 to one unit and GT54/56 to the other unit and use it like that. 2nd option: buy the GT8/GT36 combo and install. It comes with a Y cable to that connects to one unit. GT36 is image only ducer.

Most bass guys are going with the GT36 option with the in hull for sonar. There are a few different ways to approach it like what Fishin couillon said.

What couillon and carlson said. I just removed an HDS unit that was beside my 106 at the Helm. The HDS unit had an in hull ducer that gave me bottom on plane and is the only reason I left it in place when I installed the 106 (now a 126). I decided I wanted to go to one unit at the helm which meant adding the Garmin GT8 in hull and replacing a one year old GT56 with the GT36 per the Garmin bundle recommended above.
I’m running the gt8 in hull and gt36 on the jack plate. Gives me the ability to get 2d on pad. I run the gt56 on the trolling motor.
Is there a Garmin unit sold that comes with the GT36?
