1E002827 07 250 xs. The water coming from the pisser is about the same temp as the water going in. I was told that’s is how it works on these motors. REALLY? Can someone explain how the system works or doesn’t work?

Simple, your engine is an Optimax and the compressor cooling circuit, where the telltale comes from, is independent of the thermostatically controlled engine cooling system.

Okay then where does the heated water exit the motor? Lower unit?
the water dumps into the adaptor plate on the port side
